Norwich Pride 2016

For the very first time this I attended Norwich Pride. In fact it was the very first time that I had attended any Pride event.

Norwich was easy to get to with regular and relatively cheap journeys from Peterborough. On arrival at Norwich I was pleased to see large crowds arriving. I must say I hadn’t realised that this was the combined effect of a Norwich City home friendly.

However, once further into the City it was easy to see that Pride was gathering its own large crowd.

Anne Frank Trust – Take a Stand
PTUC will be working with the Anne Frank Trust for the last two weeks of September displaying ‘Take A Stand’ exhibition boards in St John The Baptist Church (Cathedral Square). The boards display information about Anne Frank, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks. The Anne Frank Trust are keen we build community events around this such as meetings, etc.

Burston Strike School March and Rally – 4 September 2016

The Annual Burston Strike School Rally is just days away now. This has been held since 1984 and celebrates the longest strike in British History. PTUC will be sending a delegation as usual and if you wish to join us please get in touch.

Dare Devil Rides to Jarama – 19 Oct 2016

Townsend Productions Dare Devil Rides to Jarama
A performance of this play commissioned by the International Brigades Memorial Trust and based around two British men fighting at the battle of Jarama in the Spanish Civil War (1936 / 7) is going to be held in Peterborough. More about the story here:
